“I am neither of the East nor of the West, no boundaries exist within my breast.”
Double quote for today! 🌈🌈
At a time where boundary setting is a buzz word and many of us are working on self improvement in order to establish and define ourselves, I find it conflicting to the true nature of our heart’s unbounding love.
I have to practice respecting other people’s imaginary lines daily in order to create cohesive relationships that last, yet, I feel as though I could pour my heart out to those who truly matter to me easily and wish they felt they could do the same. It’s a catch 22 because I feel that the rigid rules of restrictions are necessary for those who aren’t living life from the heart and who could potentially take advantage of my vulnerable state, but want to lead by example by wearing my heart on my sleeve like a reminder to all of those who have closed themselves off to the freeing space of living a life without limits.
So for now, I balance and surrender myself to what feels right in each moment. Sometimes, I’m whole heartedly open, and other times, I wrap myself in a shield to prevent heartache.
How to you balance your boundaries?
