Day 1

Bound Angle/Butterfly/Cobblers Pose – Baddha Konasana

When I was little I remember joining in my aunt’s gymnastics class and we would warm up in this position. She’d tell us to flap our little butterfly wings and that we had to duck from the butterfly net. She would call out our names and we would duck down laying forward into our legs trying not to get caught by the invisible net. 🌸🐝 It’s a great reminder for me today to not get caught up in too much seriousness and have some fun. My aunt even joined me today in some yoga on periscope!

Every time I attempt this move I have to sing “Eye of the Tiger” in my head to get pumped up! Think it worked! 🐯

Just as my mind, I am able to reach farther in one direction but less in another. Striving for more balance and fluidity in my body and my mind. 


 

Day 8

Lotus Pose – Padmasana

Some days my hips are tighter than others. 😓 Though I want to just pull my legs off and put them where I want them to go, I have to be patient and listen to my body. 👙 When I was sitting here on the beach trying so hard to surrender to the sand and let my hips be free, I noticed that I instead released my ankle into an unsafe position. 🙅 Sure I could have held it like this for a while more for sake of stretching my hips, but instead, I listened to my body and moved forward. 👣 Sometimes you just have to take life how it is and keep going. 👉 Knowing that when u come back later you may grow more. 💪 Don’t beat the dead horse if u are stuck, 🐴 just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep 🐠 swimming, swimming, swimming.
